chapter 49

The last chapter of the book is short, but very important. Ursula and Matt have lunch in the nature park and they have their first kiss. What a nice happy ending!!

Now I want to add my own oppinion. It's a love story between two individual persons. All in all I have to say that I mostly liked the book. I think the plot of the novel was very suspenseful and interesting. Not to forget is the topic "to run amok" very up to date. The style of writing was okay. A bit negative was, that the happy ending between Ugly GIrl and Big Mouth was expected very early.

chapters 46 - 48

chapter 46: The news are full of the bomb threat and that Mr Brewer is arrested.We are also informed about another important fact. The parents of Matt drop the lawsuit. HOW GOOD for him. Because of this fact, I think this novel will end very pretty, like other youth novels, with a happy ending.

chapter 47 is about a big change of Ursula.She cutts and bleches her hair. Her parents and Matt like her look very well. I think this is one of the examples that sche changes during the novel and one of her features is, that she isn't intrested in fashion or something like that.

chapter 48: Matt and Ursula suddenly are liked at school again. All his old friends said "sorry" and want to have the same relationship as before, assholes. In my opinion all of them aren't true friends.Furthermore Matt is invited to some parties, but he didn't go without Ursula.

chapters 43 - 45

In this chapter PUMKIN returns to the Donaghy's. It deals with the ceremony of the family and all are very happy that she comes back so fast. Ursula gets an gratitude email, which is signed by Pumkin, because she helped that Pumkin came back.
I'm lucky that he returns to Matt.

In the next chapter Ursula is again player of the football team of RRHS !! In the last two games she was the best person in her team. Lisa, Matt and Mrs Riggs are there, too, what a surprise. Ursula’s mum likes Matt, because she says that he is a very nice boy.
I think that Ursula’s family is now more interested in her and the basketball makes her happy.
I liked that that she plays again for the team, because she has got talent.

In chapter 45 all students have to evacuate the school, because of a bomb threat. Matt was afraid to be blamed again, because of the bomb threat and the fire alarm. The police comes to school and take Matt, because he might be in danger. At the end the reader gets to know that Mr.Brewer did the phone call.

chapters 40 - 42

chapter 40 is about Pumkin, the dog of the Donaghy's, who is kidnapped by a man. Alex Matt's brother has lost her, when they went out in the evening. But U think that Matt doesn't want to give Alex the fault, because he doesn't want to have a conflict with him and they want to get Pumkin back as soon as possible. But the Donaghy's don't know who it was it all went to fast. His mother calls the police and reports the lost of their dog. Matt couldn't speak to his father, because he is again away, but nobody knows where. In the evening, the person who kidnapped Pumkin calls Matt three times, in the last one he hears a dog yelling. Matt tells Ursula the bad news and they're really sad and angry.
I liked this chapter, because it deals with a lot of tension. It's a very sad situation, but it's exciting to expect who it goes on, I hope they find her. I have got a cat and she was away for one week. That was one of the most horrible things that happen, because you don't know what has happened. Maybe she is cooped up in a garage or run over by a car. You couldn't do anything to manage this situation, it's so hard.

In chapter 41 Ursula is at Matt's home. They are discussing about what they want to do now. Matt and Alex search for Pumkin, but don't find her. The anonymous person calls again and again.

chapter 42 deals with a suspicion of Matt and Ursula, who the kidnapper could be : TREVOR CASSITY, the older youth who has beaten up Matt. They drive to his home and talk to him ,that they have the suspicion that he has catched Pumkin with a accomplice. He gets very nervous, because without his friends he isn't brave. Trevor says that he doesn't know anything , but I think he lies, I have got a feeling for that.
I promise that Matt’s gets Pumkin back in the near future, because Trevor doesn't want to come in contact with the police or that his father looses his job.

I have to say that I liked these 3 chapters very much, very thrilling and important and not so boring.

chapters 37- 39

chapter 37 deals with Ursulas stupid behaviour. She is still sad about the situation with matt and wants to write him an email, but instead of sending the mail, she deletes it.

chapter 37 is very creative and interesting. Ursula gets a piece of paper. The paper say that she has to go to the library for a book. In the book was an apology from Matt. WOW that i have never expected, kind of sweet and creative :)
I think both are really happy that they are best friends again

chapter 39 is again pretty short chapter but important and suspenseful. It's about a phone call from Matt at midnight. After the phone call she begins to cry but why ???
It has to be a very hard thing.......
but the reader doesn't get any information about the content.

chapters 34- 36

chapter 34 is about Ursula. She sits at home and is really sad. Maybe they aren't best friend any more, because of the disagreement. Matt didn't phone or mail her.

I think nothing to talk about any longer.

chapter 35 is written in Matt's view. He is very sad ,too. He misses Ursula especially their mail contact and their phone calls at midnight...
he is not giving in !

chapter 36 deals with a conversation between Matt and his parents. Matt’s mother wants to go with matt to a psychiatrist, but matt doesn't want to go. Before the meeting begins, he leave the building. Later on at home he wants to change the opinion of his father about the lawsuit. That makes his father very angry. He doesn't care about Matt's problems at school. He only wants back his money and his good name.

chapters 31 - 33

chapter 31 is about Ursula and her family. It's the second week in march, when Ursula talks to a team member of the basketball team, who want Ursula to be back in the team. At the end of this chapter Ursula's parents find out that Matt is her friend and that they are a couple ,although they aren't a couple now. Ursula's mum is very aggressive and they start a verbal fight. She isn't happy about the friendship between Big Mouth and Ugly Girl. Her mum thinks that she gets involved in the lawsuit at school and it come out that she is allergic about dogs.

chapter 32 is very short. Everybody at school is talking about Matt and Ursula as a couple. The reason for the new rumour is that they hang up together very often.

chapter 33 deals with Ursula and Matt who are in the nature park. Matt asks her what she thinks about the lawsuit and he doesn't get the answer he expects. She told him her rally opinion about that. Matt isn't happy about her announcement.

chapters 28-30

Matt thinks about Ursula and the hand grip. I think he is excited about what's happening between him and Ursula.

Matt and Ursula write emails all night long. Matt ask her what she thinks about the lawsuit. We are informed that both agree to meet in the nature park. This chapter is important because after the meeting their relationship grow.

The 30th chapter is written in Ursula's view. So we get to know what happened in the last days. URSULA AND MATT BECOME FRIENDS!!! They eat together meet each other in the park and they're talking about the phone. They talk a lot about themselves and a few days later she meets Pumkin in the park. She likes her. It come out that both characters have the same interests.

chapters 25-27

In chapter 25 Matt is at home, writing an email to Ursula where he says thanks to her. I've got the feeling that he is very happy that he doesn't kill himself , because Ursula helps him.

In the next chapter they write emails about the "special" day. But one more time in his third mail Matt deletes his mail because he shows his feelings and thoughts. Damn what a coward.

In chapter 27 Matt’s speaks to his dog Pumkin. He talks about the special day and tells Pumkin that he couldn't leave her or his family. He wants that Pumkin believes him.

chapters 22-24

In chapter 22 Lisa is very angry about Ursula and starts to hate her. Also her mother is on Lisa's side, so Ugly Girl is alone with her problems. On Saturday Ursula goes in the nature park, because she has to think about her problems and her family life which has changed very badly.

Another important thing Id like to inform you about is that Matt plays with thoughts to jump down a cliff, to commit suicide. That also happened when Matt goes out with his dog Pumkin in the nature park. What a stupid idea !!! Why he wants to commit suicide ? I think he couldn't manage the situation that he is bullied by some pupils at school. I think Matt is a character who always runs away from problems.
But then in chapter 24 it come to an Happy End. Ursula who was in the park at the same time, sees Matt on the rocks near the cliffs. She knows that he wants to commit suicide and rescued him. She talks to him and they go down the cliff. Ursula is very frightened about Matt. She saves his life.

I like the chapter, because it was very exciting and you couldn't expect this kind of event and how it ends.

chapters 19-21

chapter 19: deals with the brewer twins who blamed Matt and that's why the Donagy's sue them and the school. Mr.Weinberg one of Matt's teachers is a bit sad I think. This chapter bored me.

chapter 20: Matt isn't at school, but why ???. The newspapers are full about the case of the Donaghy's who sued the school and the twins about millions. Ursula has a verbal fight with her father about the lawsuit. She thinks about Matt and want to talk to him.

chapter 21: In this chapter is a lot of chapter. Matt is in a horrible situation, because on the way home he is beaten up by two older and bigger guys. They followed him and pushed him down the stairs. What a shock !!!! without a reason.....? its not c

chapters 16-18

In chapter sixteen Ursula goes with her sister lisa and her mother to a rock concert at the Lincoln Centre, but leaves it after a few minutes, very amusing. She leaves the hall and walks around in the nature park. And then it happened... she sees Matt with another girl, what a nightmare. But then she noticed that it wasn't Matt. This situation is a good example that Ursula also has strong feelings for Matt, because of her jealousy.

In chapter seventeen Matt's mother sits on the ground crying. She gets an evil letter from one of hr neighbours. His Mum fells not save any more and want to move away from Rocky River. So from now on the whole family is involved, poor Matt.

Chapter eighteen is short , but important. Ursula finds out that the brewer twins Miriam and Muriel blamed Matt and his family. The two girls are the reason, why Matt was taken by the police and all the stuff that happens to him ....

chapters 13 - 15

thirteenth chapter: Matt talks to Mr. Bernhardt, his German teacher and told him that he resigns as vice president of the junior class. In my opinion nothing to talk about any more.

fourteenth chapter: It deals with Matt , who's article for the school news isn't accepted. For this reason he quits the school magazine . He doesn't want do do something with his friends. Also he is starting to hate his parents. he is in a depressive situation, without any positive feelings. I think he feels misunderstand off all other persons.

fifteenth chapter : Matt is at home. He writes the second time an email to Ursula about his feelings and thoughts, but not send it. I can't believe it Matt is a coward. I think it's the third time where he presses delete instead of send. Matt has strong feelings for Ursula , but he doesn't know how to manage the situation....

chapters 10-12

the tenth chapter of the book is about Ursula’s reaction when she saw Matt at school. Matt waits for her but she takes another way. I can't understand this only because he has called her a friend Ursula is going away and doesn't want to talk with him.

In the eleventh chapter Matt sits at home on a Wednesday evening. In a mail he wants to tell Ursula his feelings and thoughts and he wants to know the reason for her behaviour at school. But he is to shy to send the mail.
In the next chapter Ursula speaks with Mr. Parrish because he wants to know the truth. After this conversation she goes in the cafeteria and gets very nervous when she saw Big Mouth.

chapters 7-9

Champter seven begins with Matt talking to his family and the he sends some emails to his friends , he wants to talk to them , but they don't answer him he doesn't know why. Then Matt reads the mail of Ursula and he thinks it should be a joke or something like that. He couldn't believe that Ursula wants to be a witness for him. Because of the mail Big Mouth phones Ursula and she confirm's him that she wants to go to the police

Chapter eight is about a conflict between Ursula and her mum. Her mom doesn't want that Ursula goes to the principel speaking as a witness. I think she doesn't want that her child gets involved in such a situation and that's the reason for her reaction.

In this chapter Matt gets an email from the headteacher Mr. Weinberg that he isn't any longer suspended. I felt lucky for Matt because when I were in a situation like this I would have fear that the cops put me in prison. He sends a mail with the good news to Ursula.

chapters 4-6

The forth chapter isn't very intresting and long.The two detectives talk with Matt about the bomb threat. Matt goes more and more helpless , because he doesn't know how he could explain the cops that it was only a joke.
In chapter five the questioning goes on. The cops ask Matt about the rumour at RRHS. After that they allow him to call his mother. Matt's mother wants to know whether anything is true about the rumour but he said it isn't. I think Matt doesn't know how he convince the officers that he isn't guilty.
The sixth chapter deals with ursula , watching a report about the rumour at RRHS. Also to add is that she writes an email to Ms Schulz , because she wants to quit the basketball team. The reader gets the information that she and her little sister is a vegetarian. At the end she sends an email to Matt ,because she wants to talk to him.
I like this chapter, because the reader gets some background information of ugly girls family and their situation.

chapters 1-3

In the first chapter one of the two main characters Matt Donaghy " Big Mouth" is introduced to the reader. He was talking with friends at RRHS when two detectives come in. They take Matt with them without any explanation. Matt doesn't understand it and then he thinks that maybe something has happend to his family.
The first chapter is like an introduction and in my opinion not so exciting.

In the second and third chapter the point of view changes. Ursula " Ugly Girl " is shown and we get some important information about the round character.The Rocky river team plays against another team and they loose the game because of an mistake of ursula. Also important is that Ursula's family isn't intrested in her hobby basketball. Then she gets the information that Matt is arrested and she doesn't believe it. I think she is angry because the others believe that Matt is a terorrist because of the bomb threat.
